Mark moderation row: Jaleel challenges Chennithala to prove his allegations
Kozhikode: Minister for Higher Education K T Jaleel challenged opposition leader Raamesh Chennithala to prove his allegations in connection with the mark moderation row in MG University.
Jaleel demanded that the opposition leader should prove his allegations regarding the Governor’s remarks against the minister in the letter. He also asked Ramesh Chennithala to bring the letter to light if he dares. He spoke in this regard while addressing the media after inaugurating ISTE Kerala Section seminar at JDT School in Kozhikode.
People who cannot accept the achievements in higher education sector are raising allegations. The adalat was held when the future of the students was in trouble as settling of files were delayed. With this, internal marking system was modified. But some people are annoyed over changing the traditional systems. Instead of running away from criticism, we have decided to go ahead, the minister said.
The higher education sector in Kerala is a model for the whole nation. The safest location for education is Kerala and this is evident from the cases of Fathima Latheef, Rohit Vemula and Najeeb, he said.
People who want to destroy the higher education sector in Kerala to benefit the education lobby in other states are criticising the modification in education system. Unfortunately, even a group of teachers also support them. But we perceive the criticisms as an appreciation for right interventions, the minister said.
