Maradu flats to be brought down in controlled implosions on January 11, 12
Kochi: The apartment complexes at Maraudu here will be demolished through controlled implosion on January 11 and 12.
The decision regarding this was taken in a meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary here. A decision regarding the amount of explosives required for implosion will be decided in the coming days.
Chief Secretary Tom Jose said that demolition date was extended because of some technical reasons.
On January 11, apartment complexes Alfa Serene and Holy Faith H20 will be demolished. The next day, Jains Coral Cave and Golden Kayaloram complexes will be demolished.
The meeting also decided to submit a report to Supreme Court informing of the reason for the delay in demolition.
Chief Secretary also said that measures will be taken to ensure that the public will not have any trouble due to the demolition process.
