Maradu flat builders should be blacklisted: VS Achuthanandan
Thiruvananthapuram: Veteran CPM leader V. S. Achuthanandan said that the builders of Maradu flats who deceived the customers should be blacklisted. He also demanded in a statement that legal action should be taken against those who granted permission for the flats through illegal means and those who helped them.
The Supreme Court ordered to demolish the flats in Maradu based on the legal system of the country. However, a group of builders are proceeding with illegal construction and have managed to complete the works by obtaining stay orders from the courts.
Their marketing strategy is to offer flats for free to celebrities and to advertise them in order to sell other flats. There are many builders who follow this strategy.
Legal action against Pattoor flats, which was constructed through illegal means, is on progress. It is a corrupt action and violation of law to argue that the liability of the illegal construction should be taken up by the public.
The all-party meeting to be convened in connection with the flat issue should consider these matters also. The stance regarding the sale of flats which are facing legal action should be discussed, Achuthanandan demanded in the statement.
