Kalpetta: Based on the state government’s proactive measure of incentivising the surrendering of Maoists by rehabilitating them, Maoist leader Lijo aka Ramu who surrendered at Wayanad on October 25 will receive a special package.
Ramu will get a house, job and financial assistance. The state government has announced the relief as per the special package constituted for surrendering Maoists in 2018, based on the recommendation of the Wayanad district administration.
The state government offers are valid for Maoists camping in the borders of Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Besides the perks, the state will also take a liberal stance on the cases against them.
Wayanad District Police Chief Aravind Sukumar has issued a notice on this. According to the directive, those willing to surrender should approach the district police chief, government offices or local self-government.
