Kalpetta: The relatives of Velmurugan, the Maoist who was killed in an encounter with Thunderbolt, have approached the court seeking a judicial inquiry into the incident.
Velmurugan’s brother Murugan filed a petition at the Kalpetta district court with the help of human rights activists. The relatives said that they do not agree with the police version that Velmurugan was killed in an encounter.
Meanwhile, the police submitted the arms used in the encounter in the court. The police submitted the .303 rifle recovered from near Velmurugan’s body and the guns used by Thunderbolt.
