Kochi: Mani C. Kappan MLA on Saturday said that he has severed all ties with LDF and would become an ally of UDF.

“Me and my supporters are no longer with LDF. Surely, we will take part in the ‘Aishwarya Kerala Yathra’ led by Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala in Pala on Sunday,” the MLA said.

While answering questions from the media at Nedumbassery, Mani C. Kappan said that people can expect him as a UDF ally and as a candidate in Pala. Kappan added that 7 district presidents and 9 out of the 18 state members of NCP will join UDF along with him. The MLA added that all of them will be presented at the venue of ‘Aishwarya Kerala Yathra’ in Pala.

When asked about A. K. Saseendran’s claims that he has the support of 10 district committees, Mani C. Kappan said “What can I say if he considers Elathur as a district”. Responding to another query on T. P. Peethambaran master’s stance, Mani C. Kappan said that the NCP state president would join him.

Mani C. Kappan said that a decision on NCP changing front will be taken today. Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel are yet to hold discussions. As such it is wrong to say that the NCP leadership has abandoned him, Kappan added.

“Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel will hold a meeting today in which a final decision will be taken. The people of Pala will support me and elect me with a huge majority. LDF did not show justice to me,” said Kappan.

The MLA added that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan offered great support to implement development activities in Pala.
