Kothamangalam: Police have received enough clue on how Rakhil got the gun to murder Manasa and a team of police officials have already left for Kannur to expand the probe. By examining the phone call details of Rakhil, police have also confirmed that the murder was pre-planned.

It was on Friday, Manasa P V, a house surgery student of Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences in Nellikuzhi, Kothamangalam, was murdered at the house where she was living on rent.

Rakhil had hired a room just 50 meters away from the house where Manasa lived on rent. He convinced the house owner that he was a plywood trader. It was to observe Manasa and her moves that he lived here, said police. He had just two bags with him and was hardly seen inside the room during day time. He had left for Kannur two days after hiring the room on July 2 and came back just a day before the incident. Police suspect that his last visit to Kannur was for obtaining the gun and his phone call details substantiate it.
