2 persons nabbed for possessing 14 kg cannabis in Kozhikode

Kozhikode: The Kerala police on Wednesday nabbed a man and a woman for allegedly possessing around 14 kg cannabis brought for sale. The accused have been identified as Sreeni (42) and Seena, residents of Shanthi Nagar Colony, Kozhikode.

As per reports, the police recovered 12 kg cannabis from the woman near West Hill barracks. Whereas, 2 kg cannabis was recovered from Sreeni’s house in the colony.

According to the police, the cannabis is worth around Rs 7 lakh in the market. The duo have been convicted for similar crimes earlier in Andhra Pradesh and were released on bail.

The investigation was led by anti-narcotic cell assistant commissioner Prakashan, sub inspector U Shiju, Manoj, ASI Abdurahiman, senior CPO K Akhilesh, Aneesh, CPOs Jinesh, Sunoj, Arjun Ajith among others.
