Adoor (Pathanamthitta): A man who created a ruckus in the COVID quarantine centre here in an inebriated state has been confirmed with COVID-19. Police asked the man's two friends who delivered liquor bottles to him using a rope, to stay in quarantine. The man had arrived from Dubai the other day.
The person was staying in the quarantine centre when he was diagnosed with COVID-19. He had consumed alcohol and created a ruckus at the centre two days ago and also locked himself in a room for many hours. Later, people's representatives and police calmed him down and admitted him to Pathanamthitta district general hospital. The test results came on Saturday.
Mathrubhumi had reported the incident in which two people came on a bike and delivered liquor bottles to the quarantine centre. They tied the bottles using a cover and hanged on a rope so that the person on top can pull it.
Adoor SI Sreejith came to know that the men were natives of Kilivayal and Kulakkada and he visited them and contacted the other one over phone. They were asked to remain in home-quarantine, as they are likely to have touched the rope and cover which were used to hand over the bottles, the SI said.
