Man under COVID-19 observation at Manjeri Medical College dies

The deceased was identified as Abdul Majeed, a native of Valanchery in Malappuram district. He was admitted to the Medical College on Wednesday with pneumonia.

Manjeri: A man, who was under observation for COVID-19 at the Manjeri Medical College, succumbed on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Majeed (57), a native of Valanchery in Malappuram district. He was admitted to the Medical College on Wednesday with pneumonia.

Abdul Majeed, who had been suffering from lung ailments, had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Valanchery. His condition deteriorated on Wednesday and he was taken to the Manjeri medical college. He died around 10 am on Thursday.

Abdul Majeed's samples were collected and sent to the lab for COVID-19 tests. He did not have any other symptoms of the coronavirus.
