Man tries to blow up ATM in Palakkad, flees after alarm goes off


Palakkad: An unidentified man tried to blow up an ATM machine using firecrackers in Mannarkkad in an attempt to rob money. The effort to blow up the South Indian bank ATM failed after an alarm sounded in the building. Police have retrieved the CCTV footage of the incident.

The thief, wearing a blue shirt, black pants and a mask, set off firecrackers after placing them on all sides of the ATM machine. He ran outside after igniting the firecrackers. However, he fled after an alarm sounded immediately when the firecrackers went off.

Additionally, the bank manager and other staff received a message via phone informing the alarm has gone off. Later, the Mannarkkad police were notified about the development. However, the thief absconded from the area before the police arrived.
