Incident that took place last week
Thiruvananthapuram: A man threatend a French woman at the Varkala Beach here on Sunday.
The French woman was in the beach for surfing. While she was resting on the shore a local man approached her with a broken beer bottle and threatened her. According to the woman, the man questioned and threatened her for wearing a swimsuit.
Reports say man had been theatening foreign woman for some time. Similarly, there have been several complaints of attacks on foreign women at the beach.
An episode happened on last week was posted on Instagram by a woman vlogger. Tourism minister Mohammed Riyas and Kerala police were tagged on the post. The vlogger claimed that authorities have not yet taken any action on the matter.
Meanwhile, police claimed that the man who misbehaved with the women has some mental issues. They also said that the he was taken into custody and was later shifted to a mental health centre.
