Man sets fire to his house in Pathanamthitta; use of psychotropic substances suspected

Pathanamthitta: A 45-year-old man set fire to his house after allegedly consuming psychotropic substances in Angadical. Sunil, who lives with his mother, set fire to his house at around 5 pm on Sunday when she was not around. Sunil took out the clothes from the cupboard, piled firewood on top of it and set it ablaze. Electronic appliances, windows, doors and clothes were burnt.

His neighbours informed the grama panchayat member once they came to know about the fire. The panchayat member informed the fire force. By the time the fire force reached the spot, the things inside the house had burnt.

Sunil was found near the house in a deranged state. Fire force handed him over to police. Sunil reportedly uses psychotropic substances, including alcohol often.
