Man lodges complaint against ex-wife’s family, gets nabbed for possessing gun without licence

Kattappana: A forensic team recovered a revolver without licence from the house of a youth who had lodged a police complaint alleging that some people had set his house on fire. The complainant, Sony alias Jacob Antony (29) has been arrested in connection with the incident.

As per reports, a fire broke out at Sony's house on May 15. Following which, he lodged a complaint alleging that his ex-wife’s family had deliberately set the house ablaze as a means of revenge. On May 16, a team of forensic officials carried out an inspection at the house and found a revolver gutted in the fire.

A case has been registered against the youth for possession of a gun without licence. The accused who later went absconding was nabbed from Kattappana bus depot premises by a team of policemen led by sub inspector Lijo P Mani.

Sony was produced before the court and remanded.
