Man falls off train while standing near door to brush teeth, dies

Sasthamcotta: In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old man fell from a moving train while travelling with his wife and son. Nedumangad native Anand Krishna died in the incident that occurred on Wednesday morning.

The family was travelling on the Malabar Express to Thiruvananthapuram when the accident happened near the Thalayinakkav railway gate, east of Sasthamcotta railway station.

According to police, at approximately 7:30 am, Anand was standing near the wash basin preparing to brush his teeth when the train suddenly began shaking. As a result, he lost his balance and fell out of the train.

Anand's wife Anjana was informed by fellow passengers who inturn informed her relatives in Kollam. Anand's body was subsequently transported to the taluk hospital for examination. Following a post-mortem examination, the body was handed over to his family members. The funeral is scheduled to take place on Thursday at 11 am at the family residence
