Wayanad: A seriously injured man, who was being taken to the Kozhikode medical college, died after being stuck in traffic on the Wayanad Ghat Road.
Rajan (52) was injured as a coconut tree, which was being cut nearby, fell on him at around 11 am on Sunday. He was immediately taken to a private hospital in Kalpetta.
Doctors advised them to take him to the Kozhikode medical college. He was being taken to the medical college in an ambulance, but the vehicle got stuck in traffic.
Rajan’s relatives said that they could not get past the traffic even after trying for a long time. They also claimed that the police were not present to control the traffic. By the time they took Rajan back to a hospital in Vythiri, he had already died. Rajan was a local leader of the BJP, who ran a restaurant at Pulpally.
