Man confirmed with COVID-19 attends engagement ceremony in Aluva
Kochi: A person confirmed with COVID-19 attended an engagement ceremony at Keezhmadu panchayat in Aluva, as per reports. The authorities said that the person used to go out even when he had symptoms and visited a business enterprise in Vazhakkulam. His contact list is being prepared.
Agriculture Minister V. S. Sunil Kumar had said that a more serious situation is prevailing in Aluva in comparison to Ernakulam town and that a triple lockdown will have to be imposed in case of negligent actions. He said this after the review meeting in the district.
Meanwhile, it has been decided in the meeting to open the Aluva market which was closed after an auto driver from Kadungalloor was confirmed with COVID-19. The market will be opened under police surveillance. Only wholesale trade will be allowed. The number of people who can enter the market at a time will be restricted.
MLA Anwar Sadath said that the labourers in the market and the customers should strictly follow the safety guidelines. There is a threatening situation in Aluva. People must maintain caution to tackle the situation and avoid disease transmission.
Those who have COVID symptoms should not go out for any purpose. They have to remain in quarantine until the disease is confirmed. The situation worsened as the people went out even after having symptoms, the MLA told mathrubhumi.com.
