Man confesses to murdering wife, dumping body in Kasaragod river
Kasaragod: The husband of a temporary staff at the Collectorate here, who was reported missing, confessed to murdering her and throwing the body in a river.
The deceased was identified as Prameela a native of Kundara in Kollam. Seljo, a native of Alakode married her 11 years ago and the couple have two children.
On September 20, 2019, Seljo himself had filed a complaint with Vidyanagar police alleging that his wife was missing. However, once the investigation started, Seljo was called up for questioning and he confessed to have murdered Prameela.
Seljo told police that he strangled Prameela to death at their rented house. He put the body inside a plastic sack and carried it to Thekkil bridge on the National Highway. He tied a large stone to the sack and threw the body into the river from the bridge.
The police brought Seljo to the site on Thursday morning. Police and fire and rescue service personnel searched the river but could not trace the body.
