Kollam: Purported visuals of a man thrashing his mother for not preparing food for him have surfaced on social. The incident reportedly happened at Thevannoor in Kollam on Friday night.

68-year-old Devaki was brutally beaten by her son Manoj, showed the visuals. Manoj is currently under the custody of Chadayamangalam police.

The accused, who arrived at his house in an inebriated state, started to shower abusive words at his mother citing that she had not cooked food for him. Following this, he beat Devaki with a stick and started to stamp her when she fell.

The locals alleged that the person used to beat his mother constantly under the influence of liquor. When they heard Manoj creating a ruckus in his house and assaulting Devaki, a few neighbours decided to capture the visuals and inform the police regarding this.

Manoj had served in prison in connection with a POCSO case.
