Karukachal: A man hurled the pet dog of his neighbour into a well when it bit him at Mylady in Kottayam. The dog also bit another man while attempting to rescue it from the well. Rajan (54) and Ratheesh (35), who sustained injuries in the attack, sought treatment at Govt Medical College, Kottayam.

The incident happened when Rajan was heading to his shop on Monday at around 6.30 am. His neighbour’s dog rushed to him barking and bit on his arm. Rajan immediately flung his arm, when the dog was still hanging, into a nearby well.

Ratheesh was also attacked by the dog when attempts were made to rescue it from the well. The locals caught the dog and tied it with a rope as soon as it was taken out of the well. The same dog had reportedly bitten another person the other day.
