Thiruvananthapuram: The staff of a private bus conducting service from Peroorkkada to East Fort in Thiruvananthapuram showered abuses and assaulted a passenger on Friday. The passenger was beaten for giving Re 1 less in the bus fare as he had no coins with him.

The conductor and cleaner did not stop the attack even when other passengers intervened to prevent them. Meanwhile, one of the passengers took video of the staff attacking the man.

The video reveals that even when the man told the conductor that it was just a matter of Re 1 and he will give it, the staff of the private bus were not willing to heed his words. They assaulted him demanding to alight from the bus. When the video went viral, the bus conductor, who is a Vallkadavu native, lodged a complaint against the passenger claiming he was attacked. However, the man who was alleged to have attacked the conductor, could not be identified yet.
