Vadakkencherry: A pall of fear fell upon the residents near Government Higher Secondary School in Varavoor after two outsiders created panic by brandishing swords amid a reunion event.

The accused have been identified as Pramith (27) and Abhilash (28), natives of Thrissur.

The duo came targeting Thali native Hakeem, who was taking part in the reunion of the school’s 2003 batch.

It is learnt that a football match, which took place years back, had resulted in the enmity between the youths.

Pramith and Abhilash had attempted to attend the event claiming to be Hakeem’s friend but were sent back. Following which, they launched an attack against Hakeem, while he was on his way back in a car.

Soon after, Hakeem’s car and the vehicle of the assailants lost control and met with an accident.

“Three of them sustained injuries and have sought treatment at the hospital,” police said.
