Thiruvananthapuram: A Kannur native was nabbed in connection with vandalising the house of Minister of State V Muraleedharan.
KV Manoj, hailing from Payannur, was taken into custody from Thambanur railway station premises on Saturday night. He confessed to the crime during questioning.
Police revealed that the accused suffers from mental health issues.
V Muraleedharan's house in Ulloor was vandalised on Thursday. The assailant vandalised the window glasses. Further, police also found blood stains on the car porch and the steps leading to the terrace.
Following the incident, police retrieved CCTV footage from the nearby house. The visuals showed that the accused went to the museum premises after vandalising the property.
According to KV Manoj, Narendra Modi is surveying him using a satellite with the help of other ministers, including MoS V Muraleedharan. "I repeatedly asked Muraleedharan to stop the surveillance. However, he did not lend an ear to my request. In revenge, I attacked his house," he reportedly told the police.
Manoj shifted to Thiruvananthapuram from Kannur ten years ago. He had been working as a hotel employee. But now, he seems to be jobless. People used to see him wandering around the railway station premises.
Police maintained that the accused have often visited the BJP office and Muraleedharan's house to lodge complaints. A letter addressed to Muraleedharan's wife was also retrieved from his pocket.
