Thiruvananthapuram: The accused in the murder of a hotel receptionist in Thavanoor was nabbed by the police. Nedumangad native Ajesh (36) is the one who was arrested. It is learned that his name is included in the police's list of notorious goondas.
The murder that shook the capital happened on Friday morning. Ayyappan, the receptionist at Hotel City Tower near Thavanoor overbridge, was hacked to death by Ajesh.
Ajesh was accused in a case that involved stabbing his wife’s lover in Attingal. He was involved in a verbal conflict with the lodge staff three months back. He has also been charged in various other cases. Police said that he was found to be under the influence of drugs at the time of the murder.
The police in mufti took him into custody as he was sitting on a bridge in Nedumangad. The police team led by Nedumangad CI and SI caught him at around 12.30 pm. They are relieved to have caught the accused within 24 hours of the crime.
