Man arrested for allegedly molesting woman passenger on KSRTC bus in Thodupuzha

Thodupuzha: A Malappuram native was arrested in Idukki for allegedly assaulting a woman on a KSRTC bus.

The accused, identified as Musammil P, a resident of Kondotty, allegedly grabbed the woman on the bus from Ernakulam to Thodupuzha.

The incident occurred near Vazhakulam in Thodupuzha. Following the woman's complaint, the bus was taken to Thodupuzha police station.

According to the complaint, the woman was seated on the front of the bus. The accused, who was sitting in the rear, moved to her seat and inappropriately touched her. She was asleep. Startled by the incident, the woman shifted to another seat to distance herself from the assailant.

However, he followed and attempted to harm her again. The bus staff intervened and subsequently, the woman disclosed the matter to KSRTC staff, who then took the bus to Thodupuzha police station.

Upon arrest, Musammil provided no clear explanation for his presence in Thodupuzha. The police suspect he previously committed similar offences on crowded buses.

This incident follows another disturbing incident that occurred at the Thodupuzha private bus stand, where a middle-aged man was caught masturbating on Wednesday.
