Kottayam: A middle-aged man was arrested for assaulting his mother in Meenadam on Thursday.
Kochumon, a native of Mathoorpady, was nabbed by Pampady police after a video of him verbally abusing and attacking his mother surfaced. According to the police, Kochumon often created a ruckus after coming home drunk.
In the video, he can be seen verbally abusing his parents and grabbing his mother by the neck. The visual also shows his mother screaming after he attacked her.
The relatives filmed the video and handed it over to the grama panchayat ward member in the area. Later, the police arrested Kunjumon based on a complaint from a ward member. He is booked under non-bailable charges.
