Mammootty mourns MP Veerendra Kumar's death in emotional note

Kozhikode: Mollywood megastar Mammootty expressed his condolences on the death of Mathrubhumi Managing Director MP Veerendra Kumar. The actor took to his Facebook page and wrote a heartfelt note on the great personality who passed away on Thursday night.

“Veerendra Kumar, the multi-talented person in various fields is no more with us. He was a great personality for every Malayali and Indian politics. But for me, he was somebody close to my heart,” wrote Mammoottty.

“We had a conversation recently. I knew that he is suffering from ailments. But, his demise was not expected so suddenly. We were very close to each other from the day we got acquainted. We were like friends in various stages, situations and at home. I don’t know whether we were in the same age group. But we were almost like peers. There were a lot of similarities in the subjects we were interested to talk,” the actor described his friendship with the legend.

“He had given immense contribution in politics, literature, social and environmental fields. He always expressed a great friendship with me. He showed a special affection towards me apart from treating me like an actor. He always maintained a strong bond was between us. This realization leaves me heartbroken over his demise,” Mammootty said.

“I always regarded him as a close relative. He always updated himself about the matters at my home and native place. We call such a person as a relative close to heart. He is a close relative of mine or a brother, uncle, a father figure or teacher figure. Tributes to the unforgettable relative close to my heart and the great humanitarian,” the actor wrote as a tribute to the great personality.
