Malayali woman railway gatekeeper attacked in Tenkasi, escapes from sexual assault

Kollam: A Malayali railway gatekeeper was brutally assaulted at Tenkasi in Tamil Nadu. Kollam native woman, who was on duty at Pavoorchatram railway gate, was attacked by a stranger on Thursday at around 8 pm. The assailant dragged her through the railway track and attempted to sexually abuse her.

The accused arrived near the railway gate when the woman was on a phone call. He thrashed her face with a stone and attempted to rape her after dragging through the track. Soon he managed to escape when the woman screamed for help.

The woman who was acutely injured in the attack was rushed to a hospital in Tirunelveli by the locals.

The Police have launched a probe to nab the accused.
