Malayali wins Natural History Museum's wildlife photography award
Kochi: This picture of monkeys playing has won Thomas Vijayan, an NRI settled in Dubai, an international award. He has grabbed the people's choice award of the Natural History Museum, London, for the photo.
The snap of grey langurs was taken from Bandipur national park, Karnataka.
It is for the first time that the award is won by a Malayali. As many as 42,000 photographs from 90 countries were sent for the contest. The jury selected 25 from them and submitted for public voting.
Thomas Vijayan, hailing from Kottayam, is a businessman in Dubai. Passionate about wildlife photography, he has visited 30 countries in the past 15 years.
