Malayali soldier, who alleged harassment, found dead in Nashik
Nashik: A Malayali soldier, who alleged harassment at workplace, has been found dead.
The soldier, Roy Mathew hailing from Kollam, was serving in Nashik.
According to the information received by his relatives, Roy’s body was found at a pilgrimage site near Nashik.
Roy had complained of harassment by senior officials and relatives say they had not heard from him since February 25.
Alleging that Roy was kept in confinement, the relatives suspect foul play behind his death.
Roy Mathew, a Lance Naik in Rocket regiment, had joined the Nashik Army camp two years ago. In a recent report aired in a local channel, many including Roy had voiced their opinions about harassment by seniors. Later, in a telephonic conversation with his wife, Roy had also mentioned about certain issues at workplace.
The relatives had further lodged complained with several officials and CM alleging that Roy is in captivity.
Against this backdrop, they received information about his death.
