IS terrorist from Kerala killed in suicide bomb attack in Afghanistan

New Delhi: A Keralite who joined IS in Afghanistan was killed in a suicide bomb attack, said Voice of Khorasan, the publication launched by the terrorist group Islamic State- Khorasan Province (ISKP).

The IS report reveals that the man was a 23-year-old MTech student named Najeeb Al Hindi hailing from Kerala. However, there has been no further information about Najeeb or the attack that took place. His photo was released.

As per the report, Najeeb arrived in Afghanistan from India on his own. He was living in a guest house after meeting other men hailing from his homeland. He married a Pakistani family who were having ties with the IS by giving in to the compulsions of his friends. It was on the very day of his marriage that he went for the suicide attack and was killed.

The police had registered a missing person case after Malappuram native Najeeb went missing in 2017 while he was a student in Tamil Nadu. National Investigation Agency had also booked a case against him. The police said that the identity of the deceased man can be confirmed only after conducting a DNA test.
