Malappuram: Kerala police have confirmed that Ridhan Basil (28) of Edavanna here died due to gunshot wounds. The forensic examination report revealed that the young man, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances on the top of Chembakuth hill on Saturday morning at 9 o'clock, had three gunshot wounds on his chest. A large wound was also found on the back of his head.

Basil had gone missing on Friday night, and the police, who investigated the complaint lodged by his relatives, discovered his dead body. The police are currently investigating the case to determine the circumstances surrounding the murder and the identity of the perpetrator.

Basil had been released on bail a week prior, as he was an accused in an ongoing case. The police are looking into whether his murder is related to the case. The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected to be revealed in due course.
