Accused Mubasheer
Malappuram: Police arrested a POCSO accused who is out on bail over alleged molestation of the victim’s friend in Malappuram’s Melattur. Mubasheer, a workshop employee, was slapped with POCSO charges.
The accused sexually assaulted a 16-year-old Class 12 girl. The man befriended her through social media and reportedly committed the crime under the pretext of love.
The alleged crime came to light after the girl revealed the matter to her teachers. Following that, the matter was intimated to her parents. A police complaint was lodged and the arrest comes in this context.
The person was earlier arrested in January 2022 in a POCSO case over alleged sexual assault. The accused was booked in the fresh case while he was out on bail.
Meanwhile, the accused was produced before Perinthalmanna court and remanded.
