Malappuram Collectorate Blast: 2 more arrested

Malappuram: Two more persons have been arrested in connection with the Malappuram Collectorate blast. N Abubacker, the Leader of home grown terror outfit Base Movement and A Abdul Rahman have been held by the Malappuram police from Madurai on Sunday.

The arrested, hailing from Madurai, were brought to Malappuram on Monday morning and will be produced before the Manjeri district Sessions Court at about 11 am. Police believe that Abubacker is the kingpin of the Base Movement. After Al Uma head Emam Ali was killed, a new terror outfit called Al Muthaqin Forum was formed. This home-grown terror outfit had conducted blasts in several places in Madurai and Teni district during 2003 to 2014.

But the Tamil Nadu police has not nabbed them in any cases. The two arrested along with Abbas Ali, who was nabbed earlier, have together formed the Base Movement and were behind the blasts that was held across the nation in 5 places. Police said that the arrested duo have links with the blasts held in Kollam, Chittor, Mysore and Nellore.
