Kozhikode: Malabar Milma will not be collecting milk from primary dairy farmers on Tuesday.
The decision was made in view of the situation as milk can’t be sold in Malabar areas, said K. M. Vijayakumar, Malabar region union managing director of Milma.
As part of a precaution against coronavirus spread, shops are remaining closed and sales have come down considerably. However, milk supply to Milma has increased. Hence milk will not be collected from farmers in the morning and evening on Tuesday, he added.
Vijayakumar also added similar restrictions will be imposed in the coming days.
Milma, on an average collects 5.90 lakh litres of milk daily from Malabar areas including Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
