Makaravilakku: revenue collection touches Rs 260 cr, coins yet to be counted
Sabarimala: The revenue collection in Sabrimala temple touched Rs 260 crore during the Mandala Makaravilakku pilgrimage season. It is learnt that coins worth Rs 5 crore was collected during this period. According to reports, there are more coins to be counted. From February 5, counting will restart.
Compared to last Makaravilakku season, the revenue collection increased by Rs 97 crore. Last year, the total revenue collection was recorded as Rs 167 crore.
“We hope that the counting of coins will be completed before the monthly pooja in February. 250 employees will be deployed for this purpose,” said Travancore Devaswom Board president N Vasu.
