Major reshuffle in police top brass: Rishiraj Singh to be Jail DGP
Thiruvananthapuram: A major reshuffle has been carried out in the top brass of Kerala Police on Thursday. Rishiraj Singh, who is the state excise commissioner, will be the new DGP of prisons. Police headquarters ADGP S Ananthakrishnan will replace Rishiraj Singh as excise commissioner.
R Sreelekha, DGP of prisons, will be the new ADGP of Social Policing and Traffic. Coastal security ADGP Tomin J Thachankary will be appointed as battalion ADGP.
B Sandhya, ADGP for training, will be the new police academy director. ADGP K Padmakumar will be in charge of coastal security. South zone ADGP Manoj Abraham will replace headquarters ADGP S Ananthakrishnan.
Armed battalion IG E Jayaraj will be the new Kozhikode crime branch IG. Kannur range IG MR Ajith Kumar will be appointed as south zone IG. Thrissur rang IG Balram Kumar Upadyaya will be shifted to police headquarters. Internal security IG G Lakshman will be appointed in state crime records bureau.
Thiruvananthapuram range IG Ashok Yadav will be the new north zone IG. Police Academy IG Anoop Kuruvila will assume the office of anti-terrorist squad. DIG K Sethuraman will be transferred from police headquarters to Kannur range. Coastal security DIG KP Philip will be the new Kochi ACP.
Kochi police commissioner S Surendran will be transferred to Thrissur range and Intelligence DIG A Akbar will be appointed in Internal security.
Thiruvananthapuram commissioner Kori Sanjay Kumar Gurudin will be the new ACP in Thiruvananthapuram. Internal security DIG Kaliraj Mahesh Kumar will be transferred as Ernakulam range IG.
It is reported that in the major reshuffle, 46 IPS officers were transferred. With the reshuffle, police officials in DIG rank will be in charge of every range. Two range IGs have already assumed the office.
The cabinet meet has approved the reshuffle in police before the Lok Sabha elections. But the order regarding this was delayed as the moral code of conduct was in force.
