Chottanikkara: Police arrested a maid for assaulting a ten-month-old child at Eruveli in Chottanikkara. The accused is Piravom native Sally Mathew (48). Sally had allegedly slapped the baby on the face getting annoyed for not sleeping. She was employed to take care of a doctor’s child in Eruveli.
The incident happened on May 21. Seeing the visuals of Sally beating the child, the parents dismissed her immediately. The parents sought medical aid after they noticed bleeding from the baby’s ears. They later lodged a complaint at Chottanikkara police station. The child’s eardrum has been injured in the attack. The accused who was produced in the court is under remand now.
