Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister’s former principal secretary M Sivasankar had made temporary appointments immediately before facing disciplinary action for his alleged involvement in the gold smuggling case.
Sivasankar made a temporary appointment before being removed from the post of IT secretary of Kerala. The IAS officer appointed an LD clerk in the computer cell at the Secretariat. Mathrubhumi News has accessed the documents regarding the appointment.
The appointment was made two weeks before Sivasankar was removed from the post of IT secretary. The order appointing a woman in the post on a one year contract came out on June 10. Usually, temporary contracts are extended every year and the post is made permanent after several years.
The documents revealed that even LD clerks were being appointed temporarily. Such temporary appointments are made at a time when a large number of qualified candidates are awaiting appointment through PSC.
