Thiruvananthapuram: Law minister A. K. Balan took a jibe at UDF and NDA for LDF’s performance in the LSG polls.
Speaking to the media during the announcement of election results, Balan said that the LDF was thankful to the Opposition leader, UDF convenor and V. Muraleedharan MP for the victory. “We could not have secured such a victory if they had not helped. I am congratulating them.”
The UDF helped us in two ways. Firstly, they announced that KIIFB will be stopped. Secondly, they said that 4 missions including Life Mission will be stopped if they are elected to power. Moreover, they said that they would add Jamaat-e-Islami, whom no other front has ever aligned with, into their fold. The people of Kerala realised this.
Had they not taken such stupid decisions, the LDF would not have secured such a great victory in the polls, Balan clarified. The Left front is heading for two thirds majority in district and block panchayats, he pointed out.
