LS Speaker admonishes Hibi Eden, TN Prathapan for tearing resolution

New Delhi: Congress MPs Hibi Eden and T. N. Prathapan has been admonished by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. The Speaker reprimanded both MPs for tearing the resolution moved for introducing the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill in the House. The Speaker summoned both MPs to his chamber on Tuesday morning and warned them.

Speaker Om Birla summoned Hibi Eden and T. N. Prathapan to his chamber after checking the video footage of the proceedings in the parliament the other day. He said that tearing the resolution is against the rules and discipline should be maintained in the House.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah had moved a resolution to repeal Article 370 and to introduce Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill in the Lok Sabha on Monday. But the opposition protested against the hasty movement and demanded a voting on the issue. Amid the uproar by the opposition MPs, Hibi Eden and T. N. Prathapan tore the resolution.
