Low pressure in Arabian Sea; Heavy rain likely for 5 days in Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram: The Indian Meteorological Department informed that a low pressure has formed in the southeast Arabian Sea near the Kerala coast.
The system is expected to become an intense low pressure within 24 hours and a cyclone in the next 24 hours. It moves northwards to the Maharashtra-Gujarat coasts, the IMD informed.
The meteorological department also informed that heavy rain will continue in Kerala in the next five days due to the low pressure. Precautions have to be taken in view of gusty wind and rough sea.
As the sea is likely to be intensely rough, the authorities have completely banned venturing into the sea from Kerala coast till further notice.
