Thiruvananthapuram: A lorry loaded with cement ran over a third standard student at Poovachal in Thiruvananthapuram. Mampally native Emmanuel, who sustained severe injuries in the accident, is undergoing treatment at Govt Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
The unfortunate incident happened in front of the Govt UP School in Poovachal on Wednesday at around 8.45 am.
The front tyre of the lorry ran over the boy. Locals rushed to the spot and helped the boy reach a private hospital in Kattakada. The child was soon shifted to the Govt Medical College Hospital after ensuring first aid treatment from the private hospital.
