Peravoor (Kannur): A lorry helper (cleaner) was tragically beaten to death by the driver of the vehicle. The victim, Siddiq (28) from Pathanapuram, Kollam, was killed in the incident. The lorry driver, Nishad (29), a native of Pathanapuram, surrendered to the Kannavam police station after leaving the dead body on the roadside.
The altercation between the two occurred around 4:30 am Tuesday morning on Mananthavady Ghat road near Nedumpoil, within the Peravoor police station limits. According to police, the argument escalated, and Nishad struck Siddique with a jack-lever.
Both men were employed by a lorry transporting cement from Andhra Pradesh to Koothuparamba. The victim's body is currently at Peravoor taluk hospital. Police are investigating the incident.
