Loka Kerala Sabha a scam, says V Muraleedharan

He alleged that LDF government organised the event to raise fund for CPM.

New Delhi: V Muraleedharan, union minister of state for external affairs, raised a sharp criticism against the Loka Kerala Sabha, a meeting of Non-Resident Keralites (NoRKs) from 47 countries. He noted that the state government had not held any talks with the union ministry of external affairs before organising the event.

He alleged that LDF government organised the event to raise fund for CPM.

“The Loka Kerala Sabha is a scam. The Kerala government challenges the constitution and parliamentary system. I decided to boycott the event as it will be supporting Kerala government’s resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act,” said Murleedharan.

He also raised concern over the background of the delegates at the meet.

“Apart from the government’s decision, delegates were invited for the event without any criteria. Keralites in other states are also invited for the event. The programme turned like a government sponsored event to treat the people who make donations to CPM,” criticised V Muraleedharan.

He pointed out that Rs 16 crore was spent to construct stage for Loka Kerala Sabha.

“When Kerala is facing such a huge financial crisis, the government paid Rs 16 crore to Urallungal Society,” alleged Muraleedharan.

He noted that the Loka Kerala Sabha has not taken any action for the development of Kerala and for the welfare of the diaspora.

“Apart from organising such events, the government should take action to prevent illegal recruitments to foreign countries and related frauds,” said VM Muraleedharan.
