CM meets governor at Raj Bhavan


The cabinet had approved the Lok Ayukta amendment and sent it to the Governor. But he has not made a decision on this as the CM was on a foreign tour.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has arrived to meet Governor Arif Mohammad Khan at the Raj Bhavan here on Sunday. The meeting is taking place amid the controversy over the Lok Ayukta amendment ordinance. The Governor has not yet signed the Lok Ayukta Amendment Ordinance. It was reported that he was waiting for the Chief Minister's arrival.

The cabinet had approved the Lok Ayukta amendment and sent it to the Governor. But he has not made a decision on this as the CM was on a foreign tour.

The Chief Minister had returned from abroad on Sunday morning. According to reports, he reached Raj Bhavan around 6 pm.

The Governor needs to know more about the issue related to the Lok Ayukta Ordinance. Governor was likely to seek legal advice on other issues, including the legality of the amendment. It is learnt that the governor will take a decision on the ordinance only after seeking legal advice.

The Chief Minister may give more details in this regard during the meeting.
