Lockdown strategy to be revised in Kerala; restrictions according to TPR
Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the lockdown strategy in the state will be changed and the restrictions will be imposed on different levels on the basis of disease transmission rate. He added that the local bodies will be classified on the basis of transmission rate and different resistance measures will be implemented.
The test positivity rate (TPR) in 14 local bodies in the state remains above 35 percent. The TPR in 37 local bodies is between 28 and 35 while 127 places shows TPR between 21 and 28. This indicates that the TPR drops as we expected. The ongoing lockdown will continue till June 16. After that, the lockdown strategy will be revised, the CM said.
At present, same type of restrictions and testing methods are followed all over the state. Instead of this, different levels of restrictions will be enforced according to the TPR. More details in this regard will be revealed in the coming days, the chief minister said in the press conference.
