Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has decided to give more relaxations to Covid restrictions in the state. The government offices will be functioning on Saturdays and punching system will resume from Tuesday at the Secretariat. The decision on whether to allow dining at hotels will be taken into consideration at the Covid review meeting to be held on Tuesday.

In order to bring social life back to normal, it was decided to make Saturday a working day again to bring the functioning of government offices back to normal. Interestingly, the government offices resumed on Saturday for a brief time after the first-round of lockdown. But with the onset of the second wave, the working day was again reduced to five days.

ID punching system will be used to avoid biometric punching in the Secretariat. The museums will be open to the public from tomorrow as the next step in opening tourism centres.
