Closing down BEVCO outlets will result in many social crisis, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said.

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that even though lockdown has been announced in Kerala in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, beverages corporation (BEVCO) outlets will be kept open.

According to the notification issued by Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, beverages have been included in the essential services list. Hence BEVCO will be kept open.

Closing down BEVCO outlets will result in many social crisis. Hence these will be kept open with restrictions and required safety measures, he added.

Meanwhile, bars will not be functioning, but sale can be done through counters.
