Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has decided to appoint helpers to help public who visit local self-government offices for various purposes. They will help them by providing the necessary information and guidelines.

The helpers will wear a blue jacket.

A citizen facilitation centre will be set up near the front offices of the local bodies before January 10. The helpers will also provide information regarding various departments of the government. It will also function as the primary office of the information and public relations department of the government.

The panchayats that have a help desk under Kudumbashree can continue with the existing set up. The local bodies that do not have a help desk will have to allot a technical assistant for the purpose. Otherwise, MSW graduates can be employed on a daily-wage basis. Local bodies’ volunteers or interns appointed as part of the entrepreneur support system can also be appointed as helpers.
